As part of our ongoing portfolio of aged care works, Lucas Stuart completed this project on a design and construct basis for Columbia Aged Care.

Willowood is a model of the contemporary nursing home, built with particular emphasis on energy and water efficiency.

Air monitors in the basement car park regulate the exhaust fans are operated to avoid wasting electricity. A reticulated water system allows water reuse where appropriate, reducing both water consumption and effects on stormwater systems.

The facility can accommodate 90 residents: 64 who need high level care and 26 low care in single and twin rooms.

The project was awarded the 2007 Master Builders' Association Merit Award for energy efficiency.
