Ivy is a $150 million entertainment, retail and accommodation complex on Sydney's George Street.

It's the latest venture for Justin Hemmes' Merivale, who operate CBD, Establishment, The Slip Inn and a number of other successful Sydney venues.

Ivy's construction challenges included extremely tight access (everything had to come in via a narrow city lane), complex design and tight timetable.

The first bars and restaurants opened shortly after Christmas 2007 after just over a year of construction. The remainder of the complex has opened progressively through 2008.

Ivy was recognised in the 2008 Master Builders' Association Construction Awards as the winner in the Hospitality Buildings over $25 million category.
